4-H’ers learn skills at working cow horse clinic

The Jefferson County 4-H Horse Club held a Working Cow Horse Clinic 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. The youth learned how a horse shows its ability to work a cow. It consisted of boxing a cow at the end of the arena to show control, taking the cow down the fence and turning each direction, as well as circling the cow in the middle of the arena in both directions.
