The Fairfield JV Black softball team was hit with seven errors in the nightcap Thursday, and Ottumwa saved its best for last to sweep the host Trojans 2-1 and 16-8.
Fairfield led the first game 1-0, but Ottumwa took the lead with two runs scored in the top of the fifth. The Trojans put runners on second and third in the bottom of the fifth but weren’t able to capitalize.
