The Fairfield softball has had a terrific season in 2013 but unfortunately all good things must come to an end.
The Trojans traveled to Winterset Tuesday with a state tournament berth on the line. Fairfield hoped to return to the state tournament for the first time since 2004. Winterset proved to be more than the Trojans could handle as the visitors lost 7-2.
