Thursday evening was the deadline for candidates to file to be on the Nov. 5 ballot for municipal elections.
In Fairfield, the mayor and four city council seats are up for election.
Incumbent mayor Ed Malloy and challenger Gary Kessel will be on the ballot for Fairfield mayor.
Two at-large council seats, currently held by Connie Boyer and Jessica Ledger-Kalen expire. Boyer did not file for re-election.
