DUBUQUE (AP) — Ann Kearney’s job has its ups and downs, but it has kept her on the move for more than three decades.
Kearney runs what might be one of the last manned elevators in Iowa, in Dubuque’s American Trust & Savings Bank building. She and a handful of other operators ferry folks from the bowels of the historic bank building to the top floor and its glorious view of downtown.
