WATERLOO (AP) — A group of friends originally from Syria have gathered enough clothing to fill a semi-trailer and will ship the items to Syrian refugees in Turkey.
Dema Kazkaz Masri tells the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier she wanted to help some of the thousands of people who have fled Syria due to the extended conflict there.
Masri left Syria 16 years ago and her family eventually moved to Waterloo.
